The UN wants to question Prince Muhammad Bin Salman about the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, realize every child’s dream of walking on the rainbow, and to locate the Smurfs, providing international help to resolve their longstanding conflict with Gargamel.
The UN General Secretary, António Guterres, challenged the common conception that the organization’s efforts are silly attempts to achieve impossible goals. “We firmly believe it is possible to realize our dreams by efficiently working through diplomatic channels with a little dose of good faith.”
Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adel Jabir, expressed his country’s support the new ambitious UN projects. While he is prepared to fund explorations into the possibility of walking on the rainbow and locating the Smurfs, he expressed reservations about wasting resources on projects inspired by imaginary stories, such as that underlying the desire to question Bin Salman.
These lofty projects are far from the only ones proposed by the UN. Since its inception it has worked ceaselessly towards realizing dreams of world peace, protecting the environment, achieving food security, fighting poverty, empowering women, and guarding human rights.
