The son-in-law of president-elect Donald Trump intends to further the Palestinian and Israeli peace process whether the Palestinians agree to it or not, assuring that Israelis and Americans will enjoy peace either way.
Kushner stated that Palestinians being part of the conflict does not automatically grant them the right to refuse his deal. “We have given them the option to participate through the kindness of our hearts, taking into consideration the effect the deal will have on them. Yet, do they thank us for our efforts and agree to our terms like decent people? No. On the contrary, they argue as if they have leverage and have played any role in the history of the conflict”
He added, “We spent billions of dollars from our Arab Gulf money on this peace process when we could have kept it for ourselves. Our friends in the Gulf have even set aside their war with Iran, their bombing of Yemen, and their harassment of human rights organizations, all to attend the Baharein Conference for the sake of Palestinians.”
Kushner also expressed his calm regarding other countries deciding to skip the conference and voicing reservations about the deal. “If the stubbornness of a few Palestinians has affected other countries, or if some prefer to appease the Palestinian Authorities instead of cooperating with us, then their poor decisions don’t affect us, if anything it saves us all the aid money we had allocated to them.”
