The US guaranteed that it will neither ignore nor tolerate the horrid crime committed against Saudi journalist Khashoggi and that the perpetrator will pay by agreeing to at least two, if not three, arms deals.
The American foreign minister, Mike Pompeo, said that the criminal should know that the US is no longer satisfied by a single 450 billion deal. “Those were acceptable terms when it was perpetrating simple crimes that we could ignore, like kidnappings, or supporting terrorist intellectuals, or engaging in illegal warfare against Yemen. As for the Khashoggi matter, rest his soul, the act was just too visible.”
Pompeo urged the perpetrator to move quickly and conclude the deals, “the world is dying to know the truth and we will not hesitate to disgrace you, impose sanctions on the country, and freeze all of their assets kept in our banks. We will force the world to follow our example, and then, unless the guilty party repents and accepts our support by concluding the arms deals, there will be an added one as delay fee.
