Saudi Arabia has decided to grant the right of refuge to Canadian citizens who beat their wives following Canada’s remarks concerning the country’s arrests of women’s rights activists.
The spokesperson for the Saudi Arabian foreign ministry said that it is disappointed by the disrespect shown by the Canadian government towards the unique characteristics of the kingdom. “The freedom of women ends where the freedom of everyone else begins. It is our prerogative to decide whether we wish to maintain our guardianship over women, whether we want to let them drive cars, hit them, eat them, imprison them, or kill them.”
The spokesperson suggested that the Canadian statements exposed a deep-seated inferiority complex, “The strong stance we’re witnessing on this issue is undoubtedly a result of Canadian men’s inability to maintain domestic control. Canadians are not men enough to beat their women. Who knows, maybe the women even beat the men.”
Assuring that he will behave as is proper for a former president of the human rights council, the spokesperson announced: “All Canadians subject to pressure or threatened with prison for their acts against women in Canada are welcome to apply for asylum in Saudi Arabia, with the option of shipping over their women for free.”
